Headache

"Spare the rod and spoilt the child." Before I have my kids, I always believe that discipline via cane works the best as we have been brought up that way and as a life example, we are all quite good girls and boys, right?! :P

Today, Amelia tested my patience and limit again. She took her toy and hit Alden's head. Was told that this was not the 1st time today. This behaviour of "abusing her brother" has been disturbing as we tried to reason out with her prior many instances. Took a ruler to hit her hand out of my anger and forced her to stand against the wall. She bursted in tears and anger, trying to wrestle with me. Run to my mum for rescue at the end when my mum stepped out of her bath.

Thought that she has learnt in this episode, unfortunately not. Shortly after hardly a few hours, she did that again. I pulled her to the same wall and got her to stand. She cried and threw her temper. Was screaming at my top of my voice. Losing my voice....My mum stood aside, trying not to interfere but this girl was really out of control. Our fight ended in about 5-min.

Well, parents out there, bringing up a kid is never easy and it is sure a lifetime of education and knowledge to acquire. Afterall, all child is different. What works on one, might not on the other. I hope that we can find a solution to teach her the right way soon. Anyway, here's her new hairstyle. So sweet but yet naughty. Aiya!

Larry: Bee3 is getting really impossible lately. Mommy is screaming nearly everyday now....kekeke. Reminded her, even used the cane, made her stand at the door, made her repeat what she did wrong and she promised not to do it again. Guess what....less than 5 mins, she's at it again. Alias.....we must learn to be patient and remind remind remind.

Your topic has been something which I'd love to write about in length. In fact, have been thinking of writing abt this for a long time!

Yes, we've all been through the same scenario! And did nearly similar things! And i believe it will continue in the subsequent years! :D I've also raised my voice a fair bit, esp when you have 2 "Terrible 2"s at home! At times, I've also lost my cool and shouted at them at the top of my voice, including beating their hands and legs with my hands.. I've not resorted to canes yet. As for my hubby, who is the less patient one, had already used it a couple of occasions.. not to beat.. only threatened. We've been using 'naughty corner', keeping their toys, explaining, reasoning... etc

BUT.. the kids are always back to their usual self less than 5 min after their punishment. Siiigh.. Like what u said, it's just a learning process that all parents and kids have to go through. Indeed, it's not easy being a parent.
