Lady Fingers
When we were gathering at Great World City Coffee Bean that time, a japanese lady from the next table told us that baby shouldn't wear mittens as by recognising and playing with their fingers, it will help in their brain development. Thus we started to stop wearing mittens for Amelia.It is slowly that she does play with her fingers and starts to suck them and mind you, she is quite loud. We can hear her from across the rooms. Didn't want to give her a pacifier as it will be quite a tough time to quit them later and it might caused not such a pretty lip.
Guess all or most babies love to suck their fingers too. :) We just have to teach her not to suck her fingers by pulling them away. Lesson No. 1.

Ya, heard from mum and other parents that these little ones will soon learn to swallow their own fist. What a stunt, rite! I also like these pix but your bro-in-law was joking that she looked like mini chambermaid. hahahha.
yah.. we were told at the 3rd mth visit to the doc that shd avoid letting them wear mittens at that age cos they learn by using their hands to feel and touch things. And true enuf.. she learn much more and faster after that. Just keep introducing her with new stuff to stimulate her mind...in moderation of cos.
As for finger sucking.. u can try to pull them away.. they will keep coming back. Main reason why they suck is bcos it is comforting. That's why some parents (like me) resort to pacifier. :p We tot it's better to let her suck on pacifier (in a controlled way..i.e. only when she wana sleep) than letting her use her fingers (which is with her all the time) to pacify herself.
Well.. hope u'll find a way to soothe her somehow. :)
Amelia has grown and she's looking prettier by the day! Luv the hairband.
Beatrice also luvs to suck her fingers. Once we pull one hand out, the other hand follows automatically!
We even tried pushing her tutu into her mouth but she sometimes prefer her stinky fingers...kekeke
